Disable Location Sharing In Chrome to Secure Your Privacy
Google Chrome does not reveal your information without your explicit permission. Wireless towers and computer’s IP address is used to fix the location. Numerous websites ask for location information to either tailor make the information for your locale (like a weather map) or in ‘worst case’ scenarios, send targeted ads.
Either way, Google Chrome alerts you with a permission prompt on top of the page.
If you want to control the location settings for Chrome, follow these steps:
1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar and go to Settings.
2. Expand by clicking on Show advanced settings and go to Privacy > Content settings.
3. Scroll down to the Location section and set the permission from the three options on offer.
