Sony Xperia Z1 coming to India on September 18

And it's now official. Sony’s recently unveiled Xperia Z1 will officially launch in India on September 18. The company is planning to hold a conference in New Delhi next week to bring in its image-centric smartphone flagship. The Xperia Z, aka the Honami, has been generating a lot of buzz because of the latest features that the company has packed in, with the most amount of talk generated about its camera. You can have a look out our specs review to get more details about the smartphone.

A quick recap of the phone shows that Sony’s latest smartphone will come packing a 5-inch full HD Triluminos LCD with a pixel resolution of 1920 x 1080. The company has also added its patent OptiContrast and X-Reality Engine technology. Internally, the Z1 comes with a quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC clocked at 2.2GHz as well as 2GB of RAM. 16GB of internal flash storage expandable up to 64GB is also part of the package. Sony, in terms of design, is sticking to the same OmniBalance design seen in earlier models which is water and dustproof with an aluminium frame thrown in.

The USP of the Z1 is its 20.7 megapixel primary camera. Sony has packed in its patent G Lens as well as a 2 megapixel front shooter. In terms of connectivity, all the usual suspects are featured like Wi-Fi, NFC and LTE cellular connectivity. Rounding up the package is a fairly competent 3,000mAh battery.

The Xperia Z1 will be available in black, white and purple avatars. There is still no word on just how much the new smartphone will set you back by, but next week’s event should shine light on that particular topic. Estimations have placed the price tag of the Z1 in the Rs 45,000 bracket, give or take a couple thousand. Sony fans in the sub-continent can now mark the date on their calendars and get out their wallets for the company's latest smartphone.
